Describe your college experience

My transition to college has been challenging but productive. UCF is large, so the biggest adjustment was learning how to create structure for myself instead of waiting for opportunities to appear. I’ve found that the students who get the most out of UCF are the ones who actively seek out professors, programs, clubs, labs, and entrepreneurship resources. My experience has been strongest when I treated college not just as classes, but as a place to build skills, test ideas, and meet people working on serious goals.

Tip for future students

Do not be passive during your first semester. UCF has a lot of resources, but because the school is large, you need to take initiative. Go to office hours, talk to older students, join organizations early, apply to programs even if you think you are underqualified, and build something outside of class. Also, plan your schedule carefully because engineering can become overwhelming if you let work pile up.

Favorite class

Intro to Engineering has been one of my favorite classes because it helped connect engineering coursework to actual design, teamwork, and problem-solving. I also enjoyed Physics because it gave me a stronger foundation for understanding real systems, especially sensing, motion, and mechanical behavior.

Career goals

After college, I want to work in defense, aerospace, sensing systems, or embedded hardware while continuing to build my own company. Long term, my goal is to develop practical engineering products that solve real infrastructure, security, and defense problems.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal free night is low-key. I’d rather work on a project, go to the gym, hang out with a few close friends, 3D print something, or spend time learning about a technical topic than go out partying.
