Hey there!! My name is Kessa Lazar. I am senior at the University of Central Florida and I have a passion for exercise and wellness. I am currently studying to become a Physical Therapist. Through my career, I hope to help people experience the privilege it is to move our bodies and support them in becoming their absolute best selves. I plan to give people the tools and services they need to excel, through rehabilitation and beyond. I am an endurance athlete and runner who absolutely loves the outdoors and loves to socialize!! I am also a Florida native soo I know the area very well, and I absolutely love the sun.

Describe your college experience

I found that my move to University was truly when my own life began as an adult. I have gained soo much wisdom and experience about myself, life and the world; and this is only the beginning. Once students learn to step outside of their shells and their comfort zones, they will realize, like I did, how vast and extraordinary the world is, and that everything we need to succeed is within ourselves. The world is our oyster and life is what you make it. University has taught me how to be my own individual and that if I want something, I must create it. Even if you do not see an open door, you can build one yourself and forge your own the path to through.

Tip for future students

•prepare early, for everything •you need to make a schedule and create the time to do things you want to do. •friends will not fall in your lap, you need to get involved. •procrastination only ever leads to more stress. •Even if you are unsure, trying something new will only add to your experience. Say yes more!!

Favorite class

My favorite class soo far has probably been my triathlon class. I found soo many like minded people in this class and endurance sports are something i am extremely passionate about.

Career goals

Apply to masters school for Athletic Training Or apply to a DPT program for physical therapy

Ideal way to spend a free night

It all depends on how I am feeling!! However, for me, I can never go wrong with an outdoor run and cooking up something with my friends!! If I have time, I love to be out and about and explore the town with my friends as well. An outdoor movie screening, finding a night market or going to a cafe late night to chat and catch up!!
