Rising 2nd-year @ University of Virginia - pre-law!!!!
Hi!! My name is Eva and I am a rising 2nd-year at UVA College of Arts and Sciences on a pre-law track! I intend on majoring in Foreign Affairs and Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law with a General Business minor. I am also part of a variety of clubs on Grounds, including Network of Enlightened Women, The Jefferson Independent, Future Business Leaders of America, and Hellenic Society. I love volunteering in my community, specifically through the SPCA and non-profits for rescue animals, like Liberty Haven Farm in NJ! I am a HUGE soccer fan, love RB&B/2000s music, and Dunkin' runs as well as meeting new people and networking! I'd love to share and talk about the UVA experience as a Cavalier!

Describe your college experience
Before coming to UVA, I was a little intimidated and nervous to start a new life and begin my college experience as an out-of-state student. It was definitely a bit scary arriving on Grounds for the first time, not knowing what to expect but after experiencing Welcome Week and meeting my hall mates at Shannon, I grew more comfortable and acclimated to a whole new environment! I fell in love with the Corner and late-night runs to O'Hill after a 5 hour study sesh at Clark Library but my favorite memories included spontaneous trips to Barracks shopping center with friends and midnight movies with my roommates!
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid of a fresh start! The beauty of UVA lies in its uniqueness and micro moments where every person can find their niche and explore their interests. Its the little moments throughout your journey that shape friendships, career interests, and life experiences so don't be afraid to test out the waters because you never know what you might find!
Favorite class
One of my favorite classes I took during my first year was my second-semester Ethical Engagement class called “Law and You: The World and How We Inhabit It”. Through this class, our professor introduced us to primary source court records through Virginia Circuit Courts as well as several legal experts, including licensed attorneys in the Charlottesville area, to discuss certain areas of law and the law school experience. One day, our class had the honor of observing a public court hearing at the Charlottesville District Court to gain an understanding of trial procedures and basic courtroom etiquette. I especially loved this class because of how openly exposed we were to real-life issues impacting the Charlottesville community and how the law played a role in everyday lives.
Career goals
After graduation, I intend on attending law school to earn a J.D. and LL.M., for international business law with a specialty in corporate and medical malpractice. I hope to start my career interning in NYC while considering earning a Greek law degree to specialize in Greek/European law.
Ideal way to spend a free night
After a long day of locking in for a 5 hour study sesh at Clark Library, my longing for a delicious cup of Mocha Cookie Crumble from Starbucks is the perfect way to start the night. With some takeout for dinner and a bowl of popcorn, I'd either enjoy a late night watch party binging movies and shows until midnight or socializing with friends on the Corner for some entertainment!
