Electrical and Computer Engineering student
Hi my name is Callen Shouse. I served 4 years as an active duty Marine and upon being honorably discharged I wanted to become an engineer. I enjoy spending the majority of my time learning or teaching myself new things. I also think SMU is the best school in Texas and always love telling new people I meet how amazing our school is.

Describe your college experience
My college experience has been great so far. Earning a degree in Electrical engineering has been the most difficult goal I've labored for, and in that, the difficulty has been like a crucible. Being an engineering student doesn't afford you the time to go and do a lot of the on campus activities but it makes you stronger, smarter, and overall more resilient.
Tip for future students
Enjoy the little moments the semester will offer you but don't get sidetracked from your purpose of being here: to earn a degree, rather, to learn.
Favorite class
My favourite class thus far has been Circuits 1 because I was able to get hands on experience on analyzing, designing and building circuits.
Career goals
God willing, I would like to work within the biomedical field as an electrical engineer working on robotic prosthetics.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Grabbing a good book, a blanket and something warm to drink (or eat).
High school or secondary school

Previous college
Lone Star Community College. My transfer experience was smooth. SMU truly is a wonderful school and the faculty does so much to provide an amazing experience here for its students.
