International Relations Student @ Tufts!

I'm Alex, a rising junior studying International Relations, Spanish, and Peace & Justice Studies. I am originally from Marin County, California. While I am not at Tufts overe the summer, I would be happy to do a video call to talk about my experience or provide a tour in the fall. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, fostering animals, attending concerts with friends, playing guitar, and doing arts and crafts.

Describe your college experience

Tufts is truly the perfect school for me. I love that I have small classes and know my professors well but also have the access to the resources of a larger university, including the ability to take classes at the Fletcher School. I have found that Tufts students are very multi-faceted, kind, and care about the world. I have been grateful to find strong communities through

Tip for future students

While this might seem cliche and overstated, it truly does take time to feel at home at your school! Don't expect to have it all figured out 1 week in, for me it took a full year if not more to feel truly settled :)

Favorite class

My favorite class has been The Future of Global Insitutions. In this class, I got to learn more about the UN, its structure and functions, and what the future of IGOs looks like. My professor was a graduate level instructor and had worked at the UN under Secretary General Kofi Anaan. This made the class extra cool as he incorporated his prior experiences and stories.

Career goals

After college, I hope to pursue human rights work. I am interested in pursuihng law, working at a non-profit, and/ or the UN. specifically interested in womens rights and immigrants rights.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night on the Tufts campus would be to go to a Cheap Sox show (my favorite improv group on campus) and then head to Berryline in Harvard Square for the best frozen yogurt around!
