Dylan Steigerwald - Junior in Biology & Env. Science, club athlete, & much more!

I am a rising Junior at Tufts with many interests beyond my academics. In my time at Tufts, I've loved getting involved on campus, in the community, and exploring the Greater Boston area as much as possible. I've participated in countless clubs beyond the few I am most active in, taken a variety of classes, found many unique spots in the area, and developed an extraordinary network of people at Tufts.

Describe your college experience

From the start, it has always been incredibly welcoming. The community is one of the kindest and most pleasant I've experienced. While classes have been challenging and rigorous, a large support system of professors, TAs, and other faculty have allowed me to prosper.

Tip for future students

Try everything, talk to everyone, get outside, and don't listen to your pre-major advisor.

Favorite class

My favorite class was Organic Chemistry because the professor was incredibly kind and supportive and the substance of the course, while extremely difficult, was deeply fascinating to me.

Career goals

I hope to pursue conservation work, whether through research or hands-on preservation efforts.

Ideal way to spend a free night

While it varies depending on the night, I enjoy a spontaneous night with friends that may turn into watching a movie and playing board games or a night out in the city.
