Describe your college experience
Stepping onto Columbia's campus as a freshman was intimidating at first, but the transition opened up a whole new world for me. My experience so far has been an amazing blend of deep academic passion, and the unmatched adventures and unpredictable nature of living in NYC. It’s a place that pushes you to your limits in the best way possible, and I’ve loved every minute of building my life here.
Tip for future students
Embrace it all. Columbia University in the City of New York has so much to offer all the time, so don't be complacent. Find ways to be energized, and experience everything you possibly can, because the second you graduate new doors will open, but these four years will close.
Favorite class
University Writing during my first semester remains my favorite class. My professor was incredibly warm and welcoming, which was exactly what I needed as a new student adapting to Columbia's rigor. The course completely transformed my relationship with language, teaching me foundational approaches to argument structure and critical thinking. It set the tone for my entire college career and gave me the confidence to dive deep into my English Literature major
Career goals
Following my time at Columbia, I plan to head to law school to specialize in copyright law. As an English major, I spend all day analyzing texts and creative arguments, so transitioning into a field that protects intellectual property feels like a natural next step. I hope to advocate for creators and help them navigate the complex legal landscape surrounding their work
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love spending my free time with friends as well as meeting new people from all walks of life.
