Describe your college experience

Coming to Berkeley was a big leap, and like a lot of people I spent my first semester figuring out how to find my place on such a large campus. Greek life ended up being a huge part of that, giving me a community that made Berkeley feel like home, while the dorms were a great place to meet people from all over the world. Classes have been just as formative, because we're lucky to be taught by so many amazing professors who push us to think differently. Between the people and the ideas, Berkeley quickly went from overwhelming to a place I love, and that's what I want to share with guests.

Tip for future students

My biggest tip is to put yourself out there early, even when it feels intimidating. Whether it's rushing, introducing yourself to people on your dorm floor, or going to office hours, the connections you make in those first few weeks shape everything that comes after. I wish I'd known sooner that everyone else is figuring it out too, so there's no reason to hold back. Berkeley rewards curiosity and a little courage, so say yes to things and don't be afraid to explore.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Astronomy C10. There's something incredible about sitting in a lecture hall and zooming out from everyday college life to the scale of the entire universe, from black holes to the life cycles of stars. The professors make huge, abstract ideas feel genuinely exciting and understandable, and I'd leave class looking at the night sky a little differently. It's exactly the kind of class that reminds me why I love learning at Berkeley.

Career goals

After college, I'm hoping to go into business operations at a tech company. It's a path that fits the way I like to think, combining the analytical side of my Economics and Data Science background with the strategy and communication skills I've built through Rhetoric. I love the idea of working at the intersection of data, decision-making, and the bigger picture of how a company runs. Berkeley has given me both the technical tools and the curiosity to keep learning, which I think is exactly what that kind of role calls for.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal free night is hiking up to the Berkeley fire trails with friends to catch the sunset. There's no better view of the Bay, and watching the city light up at golden hour never gets old. Good people, good views, and a break from the semester. Its really hard to beat.
