Real Life Look at ASU - From an Honors Senior Who’s Tried It All
I’m an out-of-state Barrett Honors senior at ASU who’s passionate about helping students find their place here. I’ve changed majors (and colleges inside ASU), lived on campus, worked as a teaching aide, and taken advantage of everything from study abroad to student orgs, all while on full scholarship. My tours are informative, welcoming, and always honest—no scripted answers, just real insight.

Describe your college experience
To be honest, ASU was last on my college wish list. But after a tour of my own and learning of all the opportunities and resources here, I knew ASU had the potential to give me everything I wanted out of a college experience. From challenging honors courses to social clubs, fine arts, fitness, and traveling, I found a perfect balance here that allowed me to pursue many interests while realistically preparing me for life after college. I had a judge free place for many trials and errors while figuring out my direction in life, and I am excited for other prospective students to do the same.
Tip for future students
You don’t have to have everything figured out! Don’t stress - I’ve switched majors 5 times, and there are still so many opportunities for those still figuring out what they want to do. Don’t hesitate to get involved, try new things, and push yourself (it may surprise you).
Favorite class
My favorite class was the human event, an honors seminar for all Barrett freshman, where you look through literature and art throughout history and try to get to the bottom of what makes us uniquely human. The small class size and discussion format allows for deep connections in your first year with both classmates and your professor.
Career goals
Although I’m studying CIS, I am currently finishing prerequisites to apply to medical school after graduation! I hope to be one of the first classes to graduate from the new ASU medical school.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I am a big fan of the free nighttime cycling classes at the ASU fitness center, but one of my favorite spots to read or stargaze at night is the secret garden!
