Describe your college experience
My transition to college was a blend of excitement and adaptation. Coming to Tufts University, I was eager to dive into new academic and extracurricular opportunities, and it didn’t take long for me to find my footing. I immersed myself in my economics major and pursued minors in finance, entrepreneurship, and music, which allowed me to balance my analytical interests with my creative passions. Joining clubs like TAMID not only expanded my understanding of consulting and investment but also introduced me to a network of driven peers and mentors. As Co-Director of Tufts Student Giving, I’ve had the privilege of representing the student body and fostering a culture of philanthropy, which has been incredibly rewarding. Additionally, taking on the role of Business Manager for Shir Appeal, Tufts’ a cappella group, has kept my creative side engaged and helped me develop leadership skills. Overall, my college experience has been characterized by a strong sense of community, academic rigor, and meaningful involvement both on and off campus. Each experience, from my venture capital internship at 43North to my role as a Venture Partner at Bullmont Capital, has reinforced my career goals and my desire to work at the intersection of finance, media, sports, and entertainment. I’m grateful for the diverse experiences I’ve had so far and am excited for what’s to come.
Tip for future students
One tip I’d share with future students is to embrace every opportunity with an open mind. College is a time to explore your interests, even if they take you in unexpected directions. I came to Tufts with a strong interest in finance and entrepreneurship, but I also allowed myself to pursue my passion for music and creativity. This led me to roles like Business Manager for Shir Appeal and exploring venture capital opportunities, which enriched my college experience beyond academics. I also wish I had known the importance of building relationships early on. Whether it’s connecting with professors, joining clubs like TAMID, or engaging in networking opportunities, every conversation can open doors. I’ve found that showing genuine curiosity and being proactive about meeting people has led to some of my best experiences, including internships and mentorships. Lastly, don't be afraid to step into leadership roles, even if they feel daunting. Being Co-Director of Tufts Student Giving and taking on responsibilities at Bullmont Capital taught me that growth often happens outside of your comfort zone. Balancing academics, work, and extracurriculars can be challenging, but it’s incredibly rewarding. Keep a balanced perspective, and make time to enjoy campus life and the community around you.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been Entrepreneurial Finance. It perfectly aligned with my interests in venture capital and private equity, offering both practical and theoretical insights into how startups and early-stage companies are evaluated and financed. The class provided me with the tools to assess financial statements, build financial models, and understand valuation methods—all of which have been incredibly useful in my internships at 43North and Bullmont Capital. What I loved most was how the coursework bridged the gap between academia and the real world. We analyzed case studies, worked on financial projections, and even developed our own startup ideas. This hands-on approach not only deepened my understanding of finance but also inspired me to pursue my own venture, Indievest, a crowdfunding platform for emerging musical artists. Overall, Entrepreneurial Finance was a transformative experience that solidified my career goals and equipped me with valuable skills I continue to apply in my work.
Career goals
After college, I hope to pursue a career in media-focused finance, specifically in investment banking and/or private equity. My goal is to work at the intersection of finance, media, sports, and entertainment, helping to drive investment and growth in these dynamic industries. I’ve always been fascinated by the business side of media, a passion that was sparked by my upbringing in a family deeply connected to the industry and further fueled by my experiences at 43North and Bullmont Capital. I am particularly interested in leveraging finance to support innovative ventures and strategic growth within the media and entertainment sectors. Ultimately, I aspire to contribute to impactful deals and strategic initiatives that shape the future of media and entertainment. Whether through mergers and acquisitions, venture investments, or strategic partnerships, I want to play a role in elevating companies and talents in this space, combining my analytical skills with my passion for creativity and storytelling.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is to gather a few close friends and head into Boston to catch live music at a jazz bar near Berklee. There's something special about the intimate vibe of a jazz club—the improvisation, the energy, and the talent on stage always inspire me. It’s the perfect way to relax, share good conversations, and soak in the creative atmosphere of the city. Plus, as someone who loves music, it’s a great way to combine my social life with one of my biggest passions.
