Describe your college experience
I have enjoyed every second of my college experience so far and am grateful for all the amazing people I have met. I came from a smaller high school in Nashville, and coming to a big campus was definitely a lot to take in, but getting involved in many areas of campus helped it feel smaller and more interconnected. I rarely walk across campus without running into a few people I know, either from Greek life, a class, or anywhere in between.
Tip for future students
GET INVOLVED. Make sure to make a rough plan for yourself each week with your school assignments and other obligations. It is hard to do badly in classes, even the stereotypical "hard" ones, as long as you attend class and pay attention. You will have significantly more free time than highschool, so make sure you are on top of your work so that you can take advantage of the free time to meet new people and get involved in all the fun things campus has to offer.
Favorite class
My favorite class has either been GBA 146/246 with Keith Norton or my Management 300 class. GBA is more of an introductory business skills and mentorship class with everything from resumes and LinkedIn to interviews. Keith is a great guy with an awesome story; he is a great mentor and really cares about the career success of his students. My management class was a lot of fun collaborating with peers on case studies and our class discussions relating the topics to our personal lives and experiences.
Career goals
I am still unsure what field I want to pursue, but I want to be involved in the operations in that field.
Ideal way to spend a free night
There are several ways I like to spend a night. The biggest factor is if I have my schoolwork done or have an exam to study for. On certain evenings when a sporting event is taking place, my roommates, friends, or pledgebrothers and I will go to a nearby bar or restaurant, watch the game, and then stay for live music. Usually this is Tuesday-Thursday and occasional Mondays. Fridays there are bands that play or other events. I try to get most of my schoolwork for the week done on a Sunday or Monday, letting myself have plenty of time to spend with friends during the week.
