Personal UNC Chapel Hill Tours
I am a rising senior at Carolina majoring in Chemistry. As a student actively involved in campus life, I’ve developed the ability to speak confidently with diverse groups, whether in class discussions, volunteer work, or campus events. I’ve also served in roles that required me to represent my community professionally, where I learned to convey information clearly while making others feel welcome and engaged. I would be happy to help you get a feel of what Carolina is like!

Describe your college experience
My time at UNC has honestly been some of the most formative years of my life. When I first arrived, I was excited but nervous; Chapel Hill felt big and full of possibility, but also a little overwhelming. Over time, though, it became home. I’ve been challenged in ways I didn’t expect, especially academically, but those challenges helped me grow more confident in my abilities. I’ve also had the chance to be involved in things I care about; whether that’s through research, volunteering, or just being part of campus traditions like rushing Franklin after a big win. What’s made UNC special for me isn’t just the academics or the opportunities, it’s the people. The friends I’ve made, the professors who genuinely care, and even small moments like studying in the quad or late-night conversations in the dorms have all shaped who I’m becoming. It’s a place that pushes you, supports you, and gives you so many chances to find out what matters to you.
Tip for future students
One of the best tips I’d give to a future student at UNC is this: don’t be afraid to ask for help and put yourself out there. Whether it’s visiting office hours, joining a new club, or talking to someone in the dining hall, UNC has a lot to offer, but you have to take the first step. The people here genuinely want you to succeed, and some of your best opportunities will come from simply being curious and showing up.
Favorite class
Taking DRAM 288 was one of the most enjoyable and refreshing experiences I’ve had at UNC. It gave me the chance to step outside of my usual academic routine and really explore creativity in a new way. I loved how the course encouraged us to think critically about performance, storytelling, and human connection, not just as entertainment, but as meaningful reflections of culture and identity. Professor Lawton was amazing!
Career goals
After college I plan on attending pharmacy school.
Ideal way to spend a free night
One of my favorite ways to spend free time is hiking. There’s something really grounding about being outdoors, especially when classes and life start to feel overwhelming. Whether it’s a quick walk through the trails at Carolina North or a day trip to places like Occoneechee Mountain or Hanging Rock, hiking helps me reset.
