Describe your college experience
Prior to transferring to UCSD, I was at a community college that was on the semester system, so coming to a school on the quarter system meant I would be in a faster paced environment. I had to adjust to this and constantly stay on top of assignments, exams, etc. Throughout my first year, I spent a lot of time learning how to manage my time better while also allowing myself to enjoy my college experience and finding a suitable work life balance. I initially felt very overwhelmed by the sheer amount of students and things going on around campus, I thought it would be hard to find a place to fit in. However, getting involved in activities, organizations, clubs, etc. allowed me to meet great people and form strong friendships and bonds.
Tip for future students
I would recommend future students to get involved in organizations, clubs, activities, etc. as much as possible. it is a great way to network and meet new people, which really adds to the college experience. Finding a good work life balance is something I heavily recommend as well, while it's a good thing to be focused on academics, college is a time for you to discover who you are as a person, so it's important to make time for yourself.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been COGS 101B, Learning, Memory, and Attention. As someone who has always been fascinated by the brain, this class allowed me to learn a lot more about it and the various processes that go on within it.
Career goals
I am currently on a pre-health track. I have several options I am considering, including med school, PA school, etc.
