UO Cinema Studies Major, I am very creative, and love to explore Oregon!
My name is Andres Bahns, and I'm so excited to show you campus! I’ll be entering my sophomore year fall (2025) as a Cinema Studies major at the UO. I’ve always had a passion for movies and which is what led me to pursue a career as a film director. I love creating art in all its forms, whether it’s through film, visual art, or other creative outlets. Growing up in Oregon, I developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoy exploring the state’s natural beauty whenever I can. I’m also an avid swimmer and water polo player, having competed throughout high school and continuing some in college. Outside of my academic and athletic pursuits, I love attending the University of Oregon’s sporting events and cheering on my Ducks with friends. Whether I’m working on a film project, playing sports, or enjoying campus life, I’m always looking for ways to stay active and inspired. NOTE: I am very flexible and willing to make tours longer, and shorter and focused to your interests!

Describe your college experience
I have absolutely loved being here at college, my life has changed and I have done amain things, met amazing people, and never been happier.
Tip for future students
Go out and do activities, especially the events put on by UO. Also always go to class, and study groups and tutoring are great resources.
Favorite class
As an artist and filmmaker I have really enjoyed my design, music, and definitely my film class because I love to watch movies and learn about filmmaking. But unique classes like Yoga, Swimming, and Costume design are very interesting to take.
Career goals
I hope to go into the film industry and move my way up to a film director or producer.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love to go out and eat with friends, and watch a movie or have game nights in the dorms with friends!
